We have tried extremely hard to hold off fuel surcharges and when it has been applied, to try and keep to a “reasonable level.” Unfortunately, we can all see fuel prices are now unreasonable.

When transport prices are set for our customers, they are based on the cost of fuel remaining between £0.90 and £1.00 per litre plus vat. The current cost of fuel per litre is substantially over this.

Clearly, this is not sustainable for a transport company. Following discussions with several customers, we aim to be more open with how fuel surcharges are calculated.

Going forward, our fuel surcharge will be calculated as 0.35% surcharge for each 1p increase or decrease outside of these parameters, please see the table below.

The current fuel surcharge is 10.15%. We purchase fuel on a weekly basis. On a Monday, we will inform you of the fuel surcharge for the following week. On Monday 8th June 2026 our cost is £1.31 per litre; Fuel Surcharge for the week commencing  14th June 2026 will be 10.85%.
